Ascent of Dickinson Mountain on 2010-02-28
|Date:||Sunday, February 28, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||2307 ft / 703 m|
Ascent Trip ReportDrove up following logging road from Elkhead Road northerly up a creek and then it turned south. Continued driving south across the east face of Dickinson Mountain until it got muddy and became impassable. I continued hiking along the old roadbed and across a large clear cut until I was southeast of the summit where I found a good logging road going up to the ridgeline. I followed the good road up and then turned north along the ridge on a good logging road until I was about 100 yards east of the summit. I found a white concrete block building near the summit, but went into the brush for about 100 yards looking for the highest spot. It is real brushy and flat, so it took a while to explore all the possible high points.
