Ascent Trip Report

From the head of Gibson reservoir we took the Bear Creek trail to its junction (sign is still there) with the non-maintained (but only a few dead falls, easy to follow and use) Glenn Creek trail and followed it over the saddle into the Glenn Creek drainage. Just over the saddle there's a great, obvious game/hunters trail that cuts off left, crosses the south fork of Glenn Creek (about WGS84 47.64209,-112.97526), and goes uninterrupted to the head wall of the basin; easy travel & worth finding. From a camp in alpine meadows we gained the Prairie Reef - Slategoat Ridge and walked the ridge out to Slategoat Mountain. This is a really nice ridge walk. GPS says 8.5 miles roundtrip and 3,400' total vertical gain from camp.
