Ascent Trip ReportHad a pretty cool experience on this hike. I had stopped to take a break at the Carter-Moriah and North Carter trails intersection when I had a hare run by me heading south on the C-M trail, hell-bent on being somewhere else. About 5 seconds later, some small member of the weasel family followed in hot pursuit. The hare didnt give me a second look, but I startled the weasel and he detoured down the North Carter Trail and disappeared. As I was standing there in total astonishment, he came back out to look me over, like maybe I would be a good replacement for a rabbit dinner. We stood face to face for what seemed like about 15 seconds and then he took off again. He was about half the size of the hare, and about the size of a ferret. What a way to get this trip off to a start.
