Ascent Trip Report

A fine remote mountain, one of the guardians to the Knoydart peninsular, but surprisingly quick to ascend once you have reached its foot via the long, single track road to Kinloch Hourn. There is a stalker's path from the ruined cottage of Coireshub. This takes you up on to the north east ridge and eventually to the trig point.

Note that the trig point is not the summit of Sgurr nan Eugallt. This lies about 400m to the north west at a cairn on the next bump along. I then went out to Sgurr Sgiath Airigh which is perhaps the best viewpoint out to Loch Hourn and the mountains either side and out to Eigg and Skye.

I then followed the ridge south east past the trig point and to Sgurr a'Chlaidheimh. Descent was via Coire Shubh Beag, steep, pathless and with some craglets to avoid. It was then a short walk along the road to the start point.
