Ascent Trip ReportI climbed up this one from the South Taconic Trail after passing the tri-state marker on the Mt. Frissell Trail. The entire South Taconic Trail needs to see some more foot traffic in the winter. I had left my snowshoes back between Frissell and Round and had to post-hole my way from the Frissell-South Taconic junction all the way to the summit. It was the first and only time this trip that I truly needed snowshoes. The summit is clear of snow thanks to the wind. Somebody built a massive cairn here for some reason. Great views all around! After Brace, I headed back down to the saddle and over Frissell to my gear, where I found a great campsite off the trail and slept under the stars again.
