Ascent Trip Report

The trails were very scenic. There was a lot of variety, from flat wooded areas to beaver ponds and marshy areas to rocky steep climbs(fairly short). Zealand trail is fairly level and very wide at the beginning. Two people can hold hands and walk. Most of our hike was shrouded in think curtains of fog and clouds. We were on the summit around 10:30 and came back down to Zealand hut to have lunch. After lunch the weather slowly cleared and by the time we reached the parking lot it was nice and clear. Overall the hike was relatively easy for the amount of miles hiked and elevation gained. Thanks for a great day Tom, Shawn, and Beth.
