Ascent Trip Report

Directions to the TH on 14ers.com were accurate. The last half mile (after switchbacking across creek) needed a little more clearance and traction than the road to the 8.0mi point. Enough rain came through 2 days earlier to leave an inch or two of snow on the higher parts of the trail (no traction devices needed), so maybe 0.1-0.2 inches of rain fell on the road. The occasional puddles in the last half mile of road were about half-filled and no problem. Someone on Redcloud cautioned about a notoriously deep and steep puddle being in the road about 0.1mi from the upper trailhead several years ago. That puddle has been drained and was dry.
