Ascent Trip Report

After Walter, it was a simple walk over to Wheeler. There I met up with Rick and Preston again. The view was impressive - one could easily see the Blanca massive in CO and south to Sandia near Albuqueruqe - but it was about 3:30 PM and we needed to get going back. The sun set around 5:00 PM. Most of the descent was in the dark. All in all it was a 13 hour hike due to the snow. Without the snow it would have been long, but not really tough.
