Ascent Trip Report

Many patches of snow to circumvent starting from after the hut. After Bishop Lake, cut north (right) to avoid snow and cross a shallow stream. Was tempting to take direct line through brushy steepness just south of the ridge, but resisted this veering more south (left) through lower angled terrain with possible faint use trails per Moorehouse's tracks. Rather than taking what looked like very steep snow just below the ridge to the summit, went up a talus toe and joined some snow cutting left through some scattered boulders before going up and right to summit. Right before summit, noted telltale storm clouds crowding the ridge. Sure enough, it hailed for a good 20 minutes and then started raining. Crossed one potential summit block and some cl 3 before the true summit.
