Ascent Trip Report

From Villamassargia, minor roads lead to N39:29.174 E8:38.634 where a mostly-good (steep) dirt road leads into a deep valley then zigzags steeply up, traverses NE then ascends to gentler pasture land, terminating at a parking area, N39:27.471 E8:35.927, 865m (although I parked 2km earlier at N39:28.202 E8:36.945, 460m as there was a road crew at work on the zigzags).

From the upper parking area it's 2km, 350m ascent: trail most of the way. Initially a wide, steep, rough track leads past 2 small comms masts to a minor summit (1063m/P15m) with a small cross. A small path follows a fence down to a dip, then continues E, crossing the N slopes of another summit, then follows a level rocky ridge, crosses another dip (1030m approx) then climbs a fairly steep rocky spur to the summit. The summit itself is level, with a large concrete platform, a smaller coincrete base with a cairn (I suspect there's a trig marker under the cairn but didn't dismantle it to find out) and a small cross at the E end of the summit. GPSr at summit read N39:26.892 E8:37.058, 1237m.

I had intermittent heavy rain, and winds of about 50 mph on the summit ridge, which I crept up on the leeward side, but in essence this is an easy Class 2 hike.
