Ascent Trip Report

We were caravaning to Phoenix, but made the worthwhile stop for this highpoint. On US40 we got down to one car and drove north on the well signed gravel road towards the summit. We saw a coyote and a jackrabbit on Wa-N3. We took a left after about 10 miles, then parked at the cattle guard entrance gate. We had to get some ascent in and we joked that this would make it difficult. Immediately there was a puddle that covered most of the road and it was encircled by mud. While crossing the mud, Artski slid and almost fell. Certainly you should never underestimate a peak because you can always slip up! We soon reached the top and took in the views and the monument. We debated how it compared to Panorama Point. I favored KS, Artski went NE, but just because we saw a heard of bison running along the road there.
