Ascent Trip Report

I was able to drive all the way to the summit of Quadna Mountain in my 1991 Ford Festiva, but the road is badly rutted. In a few more years, even a 4-wheel drive high clearance vehicle might not be able to make the ascent unless the road receives some badly needed maintenance. When you reach the tall lookout tower with, its unusual octagonal-shaped cabin on top, take a lesser road to the right (south), which will dead end at the highest point in just a few hundred feet. There is no view here, but back at the tower there is a good view to the west where the old ski lifts used to operate. From the looks of the equipment left standing, the ski facility stopped operation a long time ago. A ladder still remains on the lookout tower with a safety cable, but there are no stairs. I will leave the ascent of the tower to much more daring highpointers than I.
