Ascent Trip Report

My first ski touring peak ever. A great day out on the Wapta, with an early start from the Wapta Hut. Jon and I would spend two days up on the icefield. This was a real intro to the world of alpine touring, constantly adjusting the gear and learning to climb steep snow slopes on skis, with the skins. We made frequent stops and took lots of pcitures.
Gordon's a bit of a slog but it is one of the best summit panoramas you'll ever see, even if your standards are very high (Mt. Forbes and Mt. Temple, among other big Rockies peaks). Plus, the ski out is long and fairly rewarding.
