Ascent Trip Report

Short hike from the campground.

I left early to get this hike in before the rains came and I was not to be disappointed .....it came down as forecasted just as I finished getting cleaned up. We drove to Snow, had our breakfast and waited for the skies to clear, that wasnt going to happen so we decided to abort Vermont, travel further South and visit Connecticut`s State Capitol in Harford.

Mount Olga is located within the boundaries of Molly State Park, on the south side of hwy VT9, 3.3 miles East of Wilmington. In 1955 the steel fire tower was moved from Townshend State Park to the summit of Mount Olga .... the National Historic Lookout Register later recognized this tower as an historic site.
At the summit you,ll find a small clearing surrounded by woods, the tower, a tall communication mast with a shed, and a 1942 geodetic survey marker. For views you need to climb the 5 flight of stairs to the top of the fire tower.
The TH for the hike is in the campground area of the Molly state Park, a trail guide is available at the park entrance office.
