Ascent Trip Report

as usual on the PCT i enjoy racing uphill on the gentle grade, and get impatient when going downhill. no way to cut here though, the bush is impenetrable.

views were limited at the summit: i had a late start to the day (3pm) and fog had started rolling in on the distant peaks. by the time i got to the summit the fog was encroaching liebre as well.

found the register, with the note from richard carey et al regarding surveying to determine the highest point. there were surprisingly few entries in the register after their original entry from 2006.

the best part of this was the side trail i took on the way back: it's the northern fork of my track on the ridge. it had bike tracks, so i'm guessing it's a bike trail. it's not on the forest map or OSM. this short segment was very colourful and lush, a trail through a carpet of clover.
