Ascent Trip Report

I went to New Forge State Forest expecting a short bushwhack to its highest point and was pleased to find a well blazed Red Trail (tho not well brushed) leading up along the western ridge to the summit; a quick ascent encouraged my following this Red Trail further hoping to create a loop and when the trail turned downhill and south my choice was to try a short bushwhack north to where the main Forest Road should be (and was) for a quick return to the State Forest trail head, an easy walk and horizon views in bare woods sharing the start with a river, small dam and fishermen.
