Ascent Trip Report

On day one, John and I backpacked from Silver Lake to Rush Creek and set up camp. The next day, we made our way up the trail to Davis Lake and then cross country up to Clinch Pass in an attempt to climb Rodgers Peak. From the pass, the route to the summit involved about 4000' of gain, including about 1300' of gain up a sandy and steep slope on the return to Clinch Pass, plus about four miles of hiking. The route didn't look fun, especially on the return; therefore, John and I turned around and backpacked out to the truck via Thousand Island Lake and Agnew Pass.
