Ascent Trip ReportFrom I-76 near its western terminus at I-70, I took exit 1B onto CO-95 (also known as Sheridan Blvd) and headed S. After 0.7 mile, just after the road tops out, I turned R into Inspiration Point Park. Immediately after the turn into the park, the road forks and I took the left fork through an open yellow gate with a sign stating that the park hours are 6 AM to 11 PM. After a couple hundred yards, I parked in the parking lot at the end of the road.
The summit is a long E-W ridge. The vegetation cover on the crest of the ridge is natural (native grass and scattered young ponderosa pines), bordered on the N and S sides by concrete walkways and mowed grass. The highest ground is near the east end of the ridge, perhaps inside a knee-high stone wall with a half dozen picnic tables, or perhaps west of that amid natural vegetation.
The park can also be approached from I-70 to the S. Take exit 271, and the park entrance is on the left just 0.1 mile N of the interchange.
