Ascent Trip ReportBeautiful morning to kick off a weekend of climbing. The climb itself is pretty easy. The first part of the hike is along a gravel/dirt road and then the trail turns right to a well-maintained foot path through the woods. The fire tower isn't the greatest because of all the radio equipment and you can't climb it at all, but just below that is a nice open spot with a great view of Lake George. Actually, the radio equipment isn't all bad...it gave me near perfect cell reception so I could call and wish my sister a happy birthday from the top of a mountain. Quite a few people were on their way up as I was heading back down and the parking lot was packed. Nice to see so many people enjoying the outdoors. This was also #14 for me in the Fire Tower Challenge.
