Ascent Trip Report

Last hike of the day & trip, a stiff climb to the Appalachian Trail deciding to go south and not north, pleased to find a green/white blazed trail taking me straight on to Bearfort Mtn - North Area into a setting sun enjoying the last of the sunlight looking from it's two knobs first west, then east to the city then getting enough twilight to reach Surprise Lake (headlamp on here) going beyond to Surprise Ridge & Peak in the dark with a quarter moon reflecting up from Greenwood Lake to finally backtrack to an empty parking lot and long, happy drive home.
