Ascent Trip Report

Solo trip up Mt Daniels via Scramble route.
Left Seattle 3am. The last 13 miles or so on NF 4330 was very rough/potholed and took about 1.5 hours making the drive over 3 hours. Had boots on the trail by 6:30, Peggy's pond by 9. Took a breakfast break and topped off my water bottles and started up the climbers trail 9:40. The trail was tough to follow but its open country so its tough to get lost. Just keep heading up. Most of the scrambling is the traverse across the ridge leading to East Daniel. When you get to East Daniel stay low on the far side - There is a trail there. I took an unintended detour almost all the way up East Daniel and lost about an hour finding my way back to the trail. There is a big flat area at the true summit with ~20ft summit block were there was a register. Reached the summit at 1 and started down 1:15 due to lost time. Back at the trailhead at 6:15, and back to Seattle around 10.

There was essentially no snow, but there was some ice on the rock in the morning, making finding handholds on the ascent more difficult.
