Ascent Trip Report

Got up early and left hotel at 5AM; worked my way along both 5th and 6th Ave trying to find the safest route in terms of cars, and avoiding back alleys. Was a pretty safe route. Ended up going downhill quite a bit until it started to head uphill. Visted the space needle in the dark and the park around it, jogged up and down some stairs for exercise and then proceeded up 5th Av. through a residential section. The streets became very steep in here. The HP is at the fire station. The sun was not ready to rise and the views of the city through all the street lighting and the space needle all lit up surprised me how much gain I had acquired in the middle of the big city. But then again this little hill has nearly 400 feet of prominence which is kind of cool when you are used to hanging out in FL cities where 5 feet is big prominence. So I got in a 4 mile jog, urban highpointing before breakfast and off to see the Seattle office.
