Ascent Trip Report

Aimed to hike Saturday but outlook on sunday seemed better. Sunny with a chance of clouds. real windy on drive to trailhead and was very pleasant on the trail up, till the hermit lake shelter. then it started gettign foggy and a bit windier. the crap load of rain so far this summer turned alot of the trail into streams. which didn't affect us much until tuckermans ravine, feet got wet between rocks. it got a little crazy from there on out being in the cloud surrounding the summit. beautiful mountain. 75F at the base and 40F with a 18F windchill at the summit with visibility at 25ft. it was tolerable going up but didn't want to risk it going back down so we took the shuttle which had some better views from the auto road. Tired and hip started to hurt once at the top but worth it. Felt superior to the people who drove up. One lady at the summit who was in heels and behind us on the steps actuallylhad the nerve to comment on how slow we were goin up the stairs to the summit cafe.
