Ascent Trip Report

Paved roads lead to a ski center at 40.6414,21.967 and we drove high clearance dirt roads to TH at 40.6204,21.9649. Much of the dirt road would be OK for a carefully driven car, but there are a few high clearance spots. From the TH it is about 5km RT to the highest point. The terrain is treeless and undulating and it would be easy to get lost in cloudy conditions without a compass. We experienced scattered clouds and medium wind. There were 3 contenders to examine, and we determined with a sight level that the westernmost was the highest. The high point has a rock outcrop and a trig pillar. The top of this pillar is several feel lower than the highest rock. The top of this rock measured 2069 m. and 7 m. accuracy with my Magellan Explorist 100 GPS.
