Ascent Trip Report

A paved road runs from Serres to the Lailias Ski Center 1km north of the peak, and 250 meters below it. We parked at the Ski Center and walked right up the ski run and then a bit left to the top. An abandoned fire lookout building is situated well under the highest point, which is on an interesting rock outcrop.

The trig pillar is near the top of this outcrop, with a GPS elevation 1856 m., 5 m. accuracy. The top of the trig is about one foot lower than the highest natural point, which is on a huge boulder about 20 feet to the south. Climbing this rock is a class 2 or 3 proposition - one member of our party required a boost to aid their ascent.
