Ascent of Mount San Antonio on 2009-06-07| Others in Party: | Tim Newman Angela Kassan (took ski lift) | | Date: | Sunday, June 7, 2009 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Mount San Antonio | | Location: | USA-California | | Elevation: | 10064 ft / 3067 m |
Ascent Trip ReportThe "trail" from the bottom of the ski lift to the fire road that goes to the notch, was the steepest part of the hike. After that, the hike was decent, the only challenge being the length and the gain (which at 5.5 miles and 3,600 feet is not too bad). The summit was quite crowded, but still enjoyable (plenty of room for everyone). On the way back, I also bagged Mount Harwood (right off the trail, only about 400 feet of extra gain).
