Ascent Trip Report

Bushwhack not terrible on the way up, plenty of elk trails to follow. If you hit it right there is a pretty good path through the worst of the Devils club. First time I attempted I strayed too far climbers left, this time shaded closer to the creek but not too close or it gets cliffy. Snow starts in the lower basin, great condition. Gully to summit block steeper than anticipated, axe was needed. Scramble a little pebbly but no major problems. Glissade from chute down to upper basin. Saw bear tracks in the snow and on the way down during the shwack saw a bear! We watched each other a few minutes then I back tracked and went down a different seam. Got a speeding ticket on the way home.
