Ascent Trip Report

We followed John Strauch's very helpful .gpx track to the summit. If you want to drive anywhere near the starting point, you need a fairly beefy high clearance 4WD and some skills. Otherwise, walking up the road probably isn't much longer since you have to drive so slowly. The climb is almost all Class 3 except for the summit block which is definitely hard Class 5. We had a group of 7 so we were able to boost each other up past the final move to the true summit where we left a register. It wasn't pretty, but it worked. Building an anchor at the top would be tough. You could brace yourself in several spots and there is a small rock arch, but I wouldn't trust it.
