Ascent Trip Report

arrived from lower camp at desolation shelter

a partly cloudy day turned into overcaste by afternoon
as we reached the summit of guyot in the early evening... thunderstorms with stronge winds - lightening pushed us quickly to guyot campsite

arrival at the lean-too shelter... found us wet, tired and in the early beginnings of hypothermic shaking... another camper was there and we shared the fire, warm tea, dinner and a dry shelter.

sunrise the next morning was spectacular..., a slim cut between the mountain peaks of field, willey, nancy, carrigain and the high dark clouds... something I've never forgotten.
