1st part of a day hike up mt adams and mt madison, starting and ending on the washington carriage road.
1960 maps show the osgood trail starting about .25 miles up the mt washington carriage road as seen on maps upto 1969.
also, the adams slide trail off the great gulf trail was still noted on maps upto 1969
