Ascent Trip Report

A mostly easy to follow figure-eight loop, following carriage roads to a short wack to Trapps Ridge vista and summit paths to awesome views with folks at Mohonk Lake / House still vacationing, me taking lunch high up above the lake's swimming beach at one of the many trail side gazebos; the steep rock descent from Eagle Cliff was easier than keeping to my way back in a confusion of trails to the Old Minnewaska Rd Jct or my earlier exploring of ways to Sky Top finally settling on its main Path; after returning to the Trapps Bridge, now following the Undercliff Rd I passed many side trails leading to rock climbing paths and closer to the highway met many climbers scaling rock while otherwise meeting but sign of bicycle and horse on a Mohonk Preserve maze of carriage roads.
