Ascent Trip Report

Repeat of hike to Fire tower #14 from last year.
Joseph and I took a three day two night journey into the Adirondacks. We traveled up yesterday on the 9th and after breakfast on the tenth we did this hike of Bald Mountain.
Joe had a good time and seemed to be quite impressed with the climb and the view.
Later in the day rain and thunderstorms were predicted so we wanted to get the hike in before things turned for the worse.
After the hike we went into town had Chinese for lunch and then decided to take a walk through Old Forge. ( there was a go-kart track but unfortunately you needed to be 13 to drive on your own.) Joe had a bit of a hard time with that but we managed to get past it.
We were headed to an afternoon swim in Nick's Campground when the rain started. around 3:30.
It was a thunderstorm so swimming was closed down. Our alternate plan ended up us going to a matinee movie, "Fantastic Four"
After the movie weheaded back to the campgroud and took showers. We then hung around town, then hit an Arcade, and then took a drive up to Inlet to see about Pizza for dinner. No luck so back to Old Forge and tuna in the Community Bank Parking lot. - a little more Arcade and then a late night movie "Mission Impossible - Rouge Nation"
The rain was off and on. The movie ended very late, midnight. By 12:30 we were at the campsite and in the van for the night. From that point on it rained, through the night and into the morning.
The rain in the morning was off and on, we were packed around 10:15, (check-out was 11:00)
We didn't repeat the breakfast from the day before, Pancake House, but headed right out of Old Forge and started to look for a place to eat. Joe remembered seeing a Dunkin Donuts on the way up, somewhere near Utica so we held out until we reached "COFFEE" and a "MUFFIN".
