Ascent Trip Report

An easy trailhead parking at the Rte 214 & Notch Inn Rd Jct with a short 0.5 mile uphill walk to the Yellow Trail at the well-graded road's end, the now well-eroded and yellow-blazed woods road reaches up to its junction with the blue-blazed Long Path; from here (a water stop along Manitou's Revenge Ultramarathon & Relay) I shared the trail / trailside to the summit with the top trail runners racing from Maplecrest to Phoenicia, with nine passing me up to summit and another fifteen going by on my descent back to the yellow trail junction; I improved on a summit cairn to just east of the trail for a few minutes enjoying the drizzle, fog, company of runners, and outlook east into Silver Hollow on my return past the water station's wait on another sixty runners.
