Ascent Trip Report

An easy road/trail climb .... 500 yards, 30 minutes RT.

Access to this summit can be had from different directions. From the north side one could use the Mount Pisgah Ski Area or the Summit Tower Service Road .... however the shortest and easiest approach with perhaps the most extraordinary view from a TH in all of the Adirondacks is from the south side. This is the approach described here.

Directions to the TH.
From northwest of Saranac Lake town center, corner of Hwy #86 and Old Lake Colby Road (this is the southwest side of the summit), we took Old Lake Colby Road east 50 yards to a right on Grandview Terrace and in another 50 yards turned left on Casier Way, large sign "Mount Pisgah Park Housing Development". This residential road climbs north/west and at .6 miles changes name to Cliff Park Road which we followed for another .2 miles to a 180 a degree switchback to the left. We parked here, this was my TH at an approx elev 590M, the summit is to the north at less than 200 yards.

There is a small park on this corner with a large plaque embedded in a rock honoring the founder/developer of this "Mount Pisgah Park", Frank and Audry Casier. The panorama to the east with Whiteface dominating is perhaps the nicest in all of the Adirondacks.
The summit is wooded with no views, so if its views you are after, one needs to go no further than the easy drive-up to this TH .... outstanding.

Hike
From the TH I walked west up the steep driveway 100 yards to a flat area with an open lot where a grass road continues 50 yards to a Communication Tower. A little used trail leaves this grass road on the right and climbs/winds 100+ yards to the obvious wooded summit with no views.
To its north side are 2 large Communication Towers and beyond that is the Mount Pisgah Ski Area with the Ski Station being 50 yards north (nice views) of the summit. The tower service road comes up from the north side just west of the Ski Station.
The satellite image nicely shows this whole area.

From here we started our drive home, making a short detour to visit the summit of Silver Lake Mountain. On route we went to check out the TH for Catamount Mountain for a future hike .... an awesome looking mountain.
