Ascent Trip Report

Hogback Mountain is open year-round to the public for hiking, snow-shoeing and other low-impact recreation. Hogback Mountain Conservation Association (HMCA),an entirely volunteer organization, publishes the Hogback Newsletter, hosts the Hogback website (hogbackvt.org), maintains the Marlboro Conservation Area trail network and publishes Hogback trail maps, (free download on the website). Selected trails are open to mountain bikes and horseback riding, while some trails are maintained for snowmobiling, as well as access to the nearby Mt. Olga fire tower in Molly Stark State Park, not to mention my again enjoying the famous “100-Mile View” from the popular scenic overlook on Route 9 (the Molly Stark Byway).
