Ascent Trip Report

Weather forecast was wind, rain and snow, with gusts to 70 mph after 11am. I was on the first tram up at 8am. Started hiking from the Ranger Station at 8:20am. Took the unmarked Tamarack Valley trail on the way up. 1 mile shorter than the standard route but harder to follow. Reached the summit at 10:50am, same time as another Seattle hiker who left at the same time as me on the standard trail. Super windy, no view. Lunch in the summit hut. Good to get out of the wind. Left for the bottom at 11:20am as the masses started showing up. Wind and rain continued all the way to the top of the tram, arrived 1pm.
