Ascent Trip Report

A quick scramble after work. Trail conditions were... no trail really. Either compact snow with surprise post-holing and then a scramble when we arrived at the summit pyramid.

Coming back down we had the great idea to follow the trail (yes there was one for a little bit) down into the basin instead of keeping to the low ridge just west of commonwealth creek. This was a mistake as we found ourselves in a maze of streams with snow tracks that were about as confused as we were. If there is still snow in the basin suggest keeping to the low ridge as shown on the GPS track and finding a river crossing around the 3900' elevation mark. Same for the return trip.

All clouds and rain at the top. Good times.
