Ascent Trip Report

I hiked the snowmobile trail seeking side trails which but meandered below ridge line spurring my deep snow bushwhack upward to finding a lean-to NNW of summit and its many more well-blazed, meandering, circling bike trails. I myself circled about the summit area seeking out the highest elevation among the many knobs, afterward following my way back from the lean-to area along an earlier beaten trail avoiding any confusion at the many junctions leading down to trail head.

Pittstown State Forest and its summit has an existing, expanding network of trails that are accessible and enjoyed by multiple users including hikers, cyclists, and equestrians with many miles of challenging multi-use single-track (yellow-blazed trail reaching to hill's crown) on property built and maintained by local mountain bike clubs.
