Ascent Trip Report

Free soloed the Northwest Face. Not planned, it was just the way I approached the peak and then got committed. It was a bit exposed and scary.

Surely this was my hottest ascent ever, temperature-wise, up to this time. There seemed to be no one else outdoors this day. It was way too hot. Just stepping out of the car in the late morning made me wonder how I could be doing this in such stifling weather.

In descending the Southeast Face, I was amazed at how careful I had to be. I was thinking it was just a simple scramble on this side, but was mistaken.
