Ascent Trip Report

Via the Waianae Valley route. The purple (up) caps/orange (down) caps are sorta still there. There's a lot of plastic survey tape in similar colors marking the route. The only two tricky turns are the left turn on the way up (downhill towards a stream crossing), and on the descent the turn down ridge just past the metal power poles. Otherwise the trail was easy to follow.

There are two 20' bouldering sections on the steepest part of the ridge. They both have fixed ropes and if dry probably in the 5.4/5.5 range (if given such a rating). The trickier sections are all over the remainder of the ridge and there are fixed ropes of variable quality protecting many of them, however given the narrow trail and the steep drop-offs often on both sides slipping off the trail would end poorly.

The boardwalk and rainforest on top are a very unique place leading to the rather anti-climatic summit.
