Ascent Trip Report

Dobbs (24H)(6X)
This was a scheduled Provisional “I” hike with Jimmy Quan as the provisional leader and Don Croley as his evaluator. I was just a participant. There were nine of us on the hike to Dobbs. Doris and I signed out on Dobbs as the rest were going on to Jepson. We took the ridge up to Dobbs. It starts at the first camp ground on the Vivian Creek trail. Follow a short, steep gully to the ridge that leads to the ridge that goes to Dobbs. At first, the ridge is very narrow and easy to follow. As you get nearer to the top, it widens out and a little more difficult to follow. You have to be careful coming down you don’t go off on the wrong ridge. It was steep in parts, but the footing was good. There were a number of ducks, and at times a good use trail to follow. When coming down, at the waypoint ROCKS, you need to make a left to go down to the campground. We went up and down the ridge.
