Ascent Trip Report

Hiked to Third Lake the day before and made camp. Left the ladies (Anne and Carol) at the lake and hiked the trail through Sam Mack meadow and up the ridge. Followed the ridge to the glacier where we donned our crampons and looped around east so as to not lose altitude. Reached the bergschrund and, while there was a snow bridge, decided it was too soft and dangerous to cross. Retraced our steps across the glacier, but rather than hike down the ridge, glissaded down the canyon east of the ridge until the snow stopped, then hiked back to our base camp. What a rush!

The ladies had caught fish so we had a delightful dinner, then hiked out the next day.

Date is a total guesstimate until I can find pictures. And maybe not even then since they'll likely be prints without date stamps.
And there was another guy with us (a fiend of Gordon's) whose name totally eludes me.
