Ascent Trip Report

From Indian Creek campground I drove south on Miller Flat road to Joe's Valley Reservoir and followed the signs to Ephraim. On the west side of the reservoir the pavement ends and the gravel road winds up into the mountains. The road is in pretty good condition. It gets pretty narrow in places and slightly rocky in places but is passable without much trouble. I followed this road until it reached Skyline drive.

I drove north on Skyline drive until I reached a small side road south of North Tent mountain and directly west of South Tent mountain. The hike up North Tent was pretty quick - 1/2 hr. There didn't seem to be any kind of trail, just walk up. Its pretty easy to find a route up. Wear pants though.

From North Tent, I hiked the ridge over to South Tent. There is a cairn and register on the Summit. On the way down I took a more direct route back to the car.

Skyline Drive is in pretty poor shape. As you drive north from Ephraim canyon the road gets progressively worse. By the time you reach North/South tent, the road is quite rutted and rocky in places. After the hike I decided to drive north to Spring City canyon. There were several mud holes, rocky areas, extremely rutted areas. It was a nightmare and took forever to make the 3+ miles to Spring City Canyon road. Don't drive up here unless you have high-clearance 4 wheel drive and are comfortable on super sketchy, narrow, muddy, rocky roads.

This was my third highpoint for the day after Monument Peak and East Benchmark. From here I drove to Boulder Top and walked up to Bluebell Knoll.
