Ascent Trip Report

I climbed Navajo Mtn in 2004. It was straightforward, with no access problems. To get there from AZ-98, take Nav 16, which is paved for about 25 miles and then becomes dirt. At a junction 4 miles from UT, Nav 161 continues stright ahead; turn right to stay on Nav 16. Just after the UT border, the highway passes by the NE end of a gravel airstrip that connects directly to the highway; I parked here next to a bush. I continued N several hundred feet on foot, until a jeep road branches off from the highway at an upright truck tire. The road climbs 5½ miles and 4300' to the summit, which has a few radio towers.
