Ascent Trip Report

Our descent line (west track on GPS) avoids almost all the timber and tall brush on the lower part of the route. Walk along the Swiftcurrent Pass Trail about 0.5 miles past Redrock Falls and you'll see the best approach. There are several great bivy sites on the benches holding snow from 6,300'-6,500' with nearby water. When you reach the scree ledge above the diorite band as described by both Edwards and Brunckhorst the Thin Man's Pleasure route is about 50 meters to the right (north) and the hole to pass through is obvious. Most climbers would rate the route as 4th class; some would like a rope for a short (5m) exposed step when crossing to the top of the chimney route. Currently (8/4/2014) there are two good pitons for rappeling Thin Man's chimney.
