Ascent Trip Report

Enjoyed this 6.4 mile RT hike as a sunrise hike. We were staying on Abanakee Lake which meant it was about a 45 minute drive to the trail head for a 3:45 am start to meet the 5:20 am projected sunrise. The hike up in the dark was a little interesting but pretty easy to follow with head lamps. It was only about 48 degrees at the base that morning (chilly for July) and it was windy and closer to 35 at the top of the tower (can only go to the base of the cab). The views of the sunset were awesome and the hike down was very enjoyable.
