|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||14110 ft / 4300 m|
Ascent Trip ReportSolo climb. Started at 4:35 am from the Crags trail head, where I had spent the night. Reached summit at 8:45 am. Started with clear weather; by the time I reached timberline, the clouds enshrouded the mountain. Winds were strong. Very few hikers on top when I arrived. Then the cog rail way discharged several dozen (hundred?) passengers who immediately ran into the visitor center to escape the windy mist. Encountered a man at the first road crossing who advised that a secret BMW ad was being filmed on the road that morning and for me to not look at the car and to not take pictures of the car. The car never materialized because the weather was too foggy. The road was closed to traffic until well into the morning due to heavy fog on top. I left the summit at 9:30 and reached the trail head at 1:55 pm. I logged 4500 foot of elevation and 15 mile round trip. Passed many people on their way up.
