Ascent Trip Report

We used the good trip report from Rob Woodall to come
in from Megara (this town has a real rats nest of streets), and
drove our rental up the bumpy dirt road. Participants
were my wife, daughter and myself. There are possible bush camps
off this road for those interested. Don't recall any
water springs. Goats were grazing at a couple locations.

We parked near the end of the road, and quickly ascended
the nearby bump, which is west of the large tower and east
of a fenced compound.

GPS near this outcrop and one meter below: 38.02031 23.13238 1360 meters

I then trained my sight level on a contending bump about 1/2
mile further west, and it appeared obviously higher.
It was an easy walk over there, where we found
a round concrete trig pillar.
GPS on top of this pillar: 38.01888 23.12302 1379 meters
Sighting back to the east I was well over the outcrop
near the end of the road, my estimate is that the west top is
roughly 15 meters higher than the east one.

Photos were taken in both directions (contact me if interested)
A Russian 1:50,000 map of the peak from
shows the west area encircled by
a 1360 +20 meter contour, and the east area encircled by
a 1340 +20 meter contour, with a 1350.6 m. elevation near the
eastern outcrop.
