Ascent Trip Report

The road to this TH is in decent shape. Passable to a passenger car but if you have high clearance it is probably preferred. The road has a well signed washout 1/4 mile before the TH. You could drive around this, but you don't gain much and it could just further erode the road so it really isn't worth it IMO. The trail is in good shape all the way up to the top. The Carbon River trail extension that goes along once the Bearhead summit trail junctions off looked to be a bit more overgrown. A fainter bootpath also can be found along the ridge while the main trail just switchbacks up near the ridge. I walked out on the ridge a ways but the 6089 site definitely looked to be the highest ground. A good bootpath seems to continue on, possibly going to Bearhead E. There are cliffs on either side of the ridge in some places but from what I could tell the ridge should go OK. Bearhead East looked like it had a short but moderate scramble at the end, or so it seemed from a distance.
