Ascent of Mount Saint Helens on 2014-06-22Date: | Sunday, June 22, 2014 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Mount Saint Helens | Location: | USA-Washington | Elevation: | 8333 ft / 2539 m |
Ascent Trip ReportCamped overnight at climber's bivouac. Started ascent at 6am and summited at 10am. Plenty of snow in the higher elevations, which gives you the option of climbing the boulders/ash or strapping on crampons and using snow routes. I choose to use both where convenient. I glissaded the way down and was able to return to the truck in 1 hour 45 min from the summit. Crampons were not required but many people opted to use them. Great views of Rainer and Adams.
